Brassart’s design team collaborated closely with the client and the door manufacturer, RK Exclusive Doors, to conceptualize the Solis centre door knob. Key design elements included:

  • Aesthetic Inspiration – The Solis knob design was inspired by sunburst motifs, often seen in classical architecture, symbolizing grandeur and vitality. This motif was reinterpreted in a modern yet timeless way, blending intricate detailing with sleek lines.
  • Custom Size – Given the 12-foot-tall double entrance doors, the knob had to be significantly larger than standard dimensions to maintain proportionality and visual impact. The final design measured an impressive 8 inches in diameter, making it a commanding focal point.
  • Material and Finish – The knob was machined from solid brass, known for its durability and luxurious feel. The finish was customized to a bronze metal antique finish, giving it an aged, regal appearance that harmonized with the mansion’s exterior palette.

Brassart’s artisans used state-of-the-art machining to achieve the intricate detailing of the Solis design. Every element was meticulously hand-polished to achieve a flawless finish. The knob was then mounted on a custom backplate.

The bespoke Solis centre door knob was installed as the crowning detail on the mansion’s grand entrance. The oversized doors, finished in a matt bronze, served as the perfect canvas for the knob’s gilded elegance.
