Our Products
We specialise in all types of architectural ironmongery, styled to suit all types of building in all parts of the world. This website is designed to let you browse our range of hardware either by the category (function of the product) or by each unique collection, each representing the styles of different architectural periods. Below we’ve given a little more detail on each of the product types we manufacture
Cabinet Hardware can be used on any type of cabinetry or drawers in kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, dressing rooms, offices, libraries, etc. Most cabinet hardware is fixed from the inside of the cupboard/door face which is termed ‘Bolt-Through’. We can adapt some designs to be fixed to the face of cupboard with either visible fixings or hidden fixings, termed ‘Face Fixed’ and ‘Concealed Fixed’ respectively.
Door Knobs also known as mortice knobs, are used to operate/release a latch holding a door closed; turning the knob either clockwise or anti-clockwise depending on the handing of the door will pull the latch in and release the door. Door knobs are supplied unsprung as standard. Because everything is made from solid brass all door knobs can be used internally and on external doors. All of our finishes can be applied to door knobs, and you can also opt for a split finish; a different colour either side of the door. Door knobs can be fitted on a plate or rose and can also incorporate a matching lock or bathroom lock; when fitted to a plate the lock is built into the plate below the door knob and for a rose you will need a matching escutcheon (keyhole) or privacy lock fitted as a separate component below.
Door Handles also known as levers, are used to operate/release a latch holding a door closed; pushing the lever down will pull the latch in and release the door. All door handles are supplied sprung due to their weight, but we also recommend using heavy duty latches and locks rather than the basic tubular version. Door handle for multi-point locks would be supplied unsprung so that the handle can be lifted to operate the lock and ‘throw’ the bolts correctly. Like with door knobs because everything is made from solid brass door levers can be used internally and on external doors. All of our finishes can be applied to handles and you can also opt for a split finish, a different colour either side of the door. Door handles can be fitted on a plate or rose and can also incorporate a matching lock or bathroom lock; when fitted to a plate the lock is built into the plate below the handle and for a rose you will need an escutcheon (keyhole), or privacy lock fitted on a matching rose as a separate component below.
Entrance Door Hardware is split into two categories; Entrance Door Knobs and Entrance Door Accessories. Entrance door knobs, also known as Centre Door knobs, do not operate a lock or latch fitted to a front door; they are for decorative purposes only. Sizes vary from 75mm up to 150mm as standard, but we can make almost any size providing the raw material is available to do so. They are fitted usually from behind the door (‘Bolt-Through’) for security purposes but they can be fitted with a basic dowel bolt fitted inside the door so nothing is visible from the inside. It’s normal for us to liaise with the door manufacturer to ensure the correct fitting of the door knob, and to ensure it is stable and safe when fitted – This is something we’re more than happy to do. Entrance door accessories are any items you would normally find on a front door. The more common items are door knockers (either ring or drop), letter box flaps, door bells, etc.
Privacy Locks are supplied as a set which includes a thumb turn on the inside to lock the door and a safety release mechanism on the outside which is either a coin release or key release. The external release mechanism is a regulatory requirement to ensure the door can be opened from the outside in the event of an emergency inside. Each of our door handle or door knob ranges has a matching bathroom lock set which can either be fitted as a separate component beneath the handle/knob or incorporated into a plate if this is the preferred style.
Escutcheons are essentially the surround that is fitted to or over a key hole – They don’t serve any particular purpose other than being a decorative feature. Some escutcheons are covered or closed, and some are open. All are available in standard lever key, euro-profile or oval-profile openings which are standard sizes so will always fit the type of lock mechanism and/or cylinder you are using.
Door Accessories are items that can be fixed to a door for either decorative or functional reasons but are not required for the essential opening and closing of the door. There are many other items that could be of use that aren’t listed in this category but are still available to buy from us. Please get in touch if there is something you need but can’t see.
Door Pull Handles can be used in almost any setting and any purpose; a front door to a home combined with an escutcheon, a set of double doors for a restaurant in a hospitality venue, or a drinks cabinet or wine cellar in a private members bar. There are no mechanical components involved; they simply fit to a door so that it can be pulled or pushed open by hand. We offer many styles of door pull which can be fitted ‘Bolt-Through’, ‘Face Fixed’, ‘Concealed Fix’ of ‘Back-to-Back’ (for either side of a door). All are made from solid brass and can be supplied in any of our finishes. Door Pulls are the most common product type where customer sizes are requested. We can and do make most products in sizes from 300mm up to 2000mm so please get in touch if the size you need isn’t show as an option.
Push Plates are similar in function to door pull handles in that they don’t have any operating components and a simply used as a method of pushing a door open. It is quite normal for a push plate to be fitted on the opposite side of a door to a pull handle; one side is push to open, the other side is pull to open.
Window Furniture is often forgotten about when ironmongery is being scheduled. We can supply any fixings and hardware in our more popular ranges for casement and sash windows. We also offer many styles of curtain tie backs, again in our most popular ranges.
