Our team was contracted to replicate a series of solid antique brass door levers on back plates for the London residence, located in Belgravia, of an undisclosed Middle Eastern royal family. The project required precise craftsmanship to replicate the elegance and historical charm of the original door hardware while ensuring modern functionality and durability.

The royal family’s design team requested that the door levers and back plates be faithfully replicated from existing antique pieces within their residence. The original fixtures, crafted in solid brass with intricate detailing, were to be reproduced with exacting accuracy to preserve the authenticity of the residence’s classical aesthetic. The finish had to retain the patina and aged elegance of the originals while also enhancing their durability for everyday use.

Replicating antique brass hardware required a careful blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology. The original door levers had intricate detailing that had aged over time, giving them a unique patina and wear. The challenge was not only to replicate these design elements but also to ensure that the recreated pieces maintained their antique look while meeting modern performance standards.

We began by thoroughly analysing the original pieces, capturing every curve, engraving, and detail. Using CNC machining and hand-finishing techniques, we replicated the design of both the levers and the back plates in solid brass. The finishing process was particularly delicate, as we needed to simulate the natural aging of the brass while applying a protective coating to ensure the longevity of the hardware.

The final result was a flawless replication of the original antique brass door levers and back plates, capturing the historical charm and refined craftsmanship of the originals. The bespoke hardware seamlessly integrated into the residence’s classical interior while providing the durability and functionality required for modern living. The client was highly satisfied with the authenticity of the reproduction, which paid homage to the residence’s heritage and the family’s distinguished taste.

The project took three months to complete, allowing for multiple stages of design verification and production refinements. Throughout the process, we worked closely with the client’s design team, providing prototypes and ensuring the finishes matched the desired antique aesthetic.
